The SmartGen 3.1 can transmit all the basic RDS information plus, at your option: decoder information, music/speech flags, PS and radio text scrolling options, a fully digital synthesis of the RDS signal, and two types of operating modes – Loop-through & Side-chain.
Using the SmartGen Basic RDS/RBDS Encoders Manager, all the RDS programming information can be saved as a file before, after, or instead of sending the information to the encoder. This could be very useful when various programming segments throughout the broadcast day have program-specific RDS settings or messages, or for changing advertising or station promos at random.

SmartGen 3.1 Encoder is a quick and inexpensive way to have an RDS/RBDS included. The SmartGen 3.1 is able to transmit basic RDS information such as the Program Service name(PS), Program Identification(PI), Alternative Frequencies(AF), Program Type(PTY). Decoder Information and Music / Speech flag are also supported. USB connectivity makes it easy to program the non-volatile memory using any PC and the supplied Windows® software. After programming, the unit should be disconnected and re-installed on the transmitter site. Though it is not capable of "dynamic" messaging of the song titles, SmartGen 3.1 will identify your station by format and will display your station's "street name", continuously transmitting any station promo or advertising messages to your listeners.

Based on our more than 15 years of experience in the RDS field, the SmartGen Basic RDS/RBDS Encoders Manager was developed as a dedicated software for full management of our Basic RDS Encoders range as regards to the latest updates of the RDS/RBDS Standards.
